India’s ODI squad for SL: Long-missed Jasprit Bumrah has been added to the Indian ODI squad for the Sri Lanka ODI series as part of preparation for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
Bumrah Remembered for India Crew For SL ODI
Bumrah make his worldwide return just subsequent to being proclaimed fit. Bumrah, who has been down and out since September 2022, is supposed to highlight this month against Sri Lanka subsequent to being added to the ODI crew.
On July 14, 2022, Bumrah played his final one-day international against England at Lord’s. Bumrah has played 72 one-day internationals, taking 121 wickets at an economy rate of 4.64.
Bumrah was diagnosed with a stress reaction in his back in August 2022, and later that month, he was ruled out of India’s Asia Cup campaign.
However, Bumrah was selected for India’s T20 World Cup squad in September after being declared fit. The same team also played in India’s tournament buildup, playing at home against Australia and South Africa.
Bumrah played in two of India’s three Twenty20 matches against Australia, but he was forced to withdraw on the eve of India’s final series before the World Cup against South Africa due to back pain. Bumrah played in India’s last match against Australia in the T20I series at home before suffering a stress reaction in his back. As a result, he had to miss the T20 World Cup in Australia. He went through rehabilitation before the NCA said he was fit.
Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik, and Arshdeep Singh are already included in India’s squad for the Sri Lanka series. On January 10, the series begins in Guwahati. With Australia’s trip to India next month for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah’s return is a welcome boost for the senior team.
On January 10, the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will host the first one-day international of the Sri Lanka tour of India in 2023.
